What Are the Symptoms of Having Diabetes?

Diabetes is the off balance of insulin with in the body; insulin is produce by the beta cells in the pancreas. The pancreas is a gland organ that sets behind the stomach and main role is the digestion of food. The hormone insulin that the beta cells make is very important because it regulates the fats and sugars with in the body. Also, insulin pushes the glucose through the blood stream and the cells store it for energy.

However, some people their beta cells do not produce the insulin which is known as type 1 diabetes. The more common one type 2 diabetes, is when the beta cells produces the insulin but the body either rejections it or there isn’t enough insulin made. The treatment for diabetes is a healthy life style, although doctors are unsure what causes diabetes for sure, they have linked that the healthier the person the lower their risk is. And also, another treatment are insulin injections to balance out the insulin with in the body. Because too much insulin can cause low blood sugar and not enough is high blood sugar.

Some of the warning signs and/or symptoms for having diabetes are frequent trips to the bathrooms. The reason with this is because your body isn’t making insulin or ineffective then the kidneys cannot filter the glucose back into the blood. This causes your body to try to draw extra water out of the blood diluting the glucose, as a results your bladder is full and making you run to the bathroom.
Hand to hand with frequent trips to the bathroom is unquenchable thirst. This is because when your body is pulling water from itself, you will be more thirty than usual to replace the water you are losing. Another symptoms and/or sign is losing weight without trying although this more noticeable with type 1 diabetes.

The reason for this is because in type 1 diabetes your body has stopped making insulin, making your body desperate for energy. Your body will start to break down muscle tissue and fat for energy. The reason this is not as noticeable in type 2 diabetes because, type 2 diabetes still is producing insulin even if the body is rejecting it or it is in little amounts.

Fatigue and weakness may be caused by diabetes because your body gets energy form the glucose with in the cells. But if the insulin isn’t there for the cells to react then the glucose stays in the blood stream outside of the cells. The cells therefore become starved from energy, which drains you down.
Also, a sign of diabetes is tingling or numbness in your feet, legs, hands and fingers. This is called neuropathy because high glucose in the blood streams will damage the nervous system. Other signs are skin that is itchy or dry, frequent infections, blurred visions or even cuts and bruises which take a longer time than usual for you to heal. These are all because of the high glucoses levels in your blood streams.  If you have these symptoms and think something may be wrong it would be wise to talk to your doctor about your concerns.
