If you are a nurse and happen to provide your own
nursing scrubs instead of the hospital you work with, then it is important that
you should know some ideas on how to maintain it. Generally, scrubs suits that are offered for
sale in physical and online stores are durable.
It does not mean that you will not take care of it. Here are helpful suggestions on how to
preserve it whether it is Koi Scrubs or any brand for that matter.
Washing
First and foremost is to separate this uniform from
the rest of your clothing. As a hospital
uniform, it is exposed to all sorts of microbes, secretions, and other body
fluids while doing your duties and responsibilities as a nurse. Separating it from other clothes will help
prevent contamination. If it is a
colored scrub, use only detergents, bleaches, and other solutions that are
appropriate only for colored garments. This is to avoid the colors from fading
quickly.
Sanitizing
Other than the fact that you need to get rid of
bacteria, germs, and viruses that cling on to this uniform, it is highly
possible that these minute particles when not sanitized might cause undue
damage to your scrub suits. Thus, you
need to wash it twice. First, by washing
it with cold water and second washing it with hot water mix with other
disinfectant solutions. When using
strong anti-bacterial solution, you must not leave it soak for long period of
time to avoid damage to the garment.
Ironing
When you iron nurse scrubs, you should take note of
the material it is made of. Polyester
tend to stick on the surface of the iron and cotton works when it at high hot
temperature. Do it slowly to avoid
ruining buttons and edges.
Wearing
You have to have separate attire when going to and
from work. Wearing scrub suits after
duty is not advisable. Other than
bringing germs and bacteria at home, it might be exposed to damages such as
being rip and torn apart by pointed objects while riding in a bus for example.
As you can see, preserving Koi scrubs or any brand
for that matter is simple; no complicated steps thus you can do it every
day.
